CTLS, Inc. provides a variety of fee-based services. Professional Services include Library Space Planning, Library Building Consulting, Organizational Development and Project Management.
Library Planning Services
We typically provide the following fee-based library planning services:
• Review layout of shelving and display furnishings, to reflect current public library trends toward bookstore/marketing concepts
• Consult on appropriate furniture/shelving for the various functional areas of the library
• Measure existing library materials and determine adequate growth rates for current and future collections
• Assist in the functional planning of multipurpose lounge areas, computer stations and study areas for the public
• Assist in developing specifications and selecting vendors for shelving and other display furnishing.
• Determine adequate space for staff functions, so that the circulation desk and work areas are efficient, comfortable and uncluttered
• Plan for library security, in terms of the exterior of the building and the internal zoning of movement to provide clear sight lines - both from the circulation desk and the Librarian’s office
• Consider access issues for disabled citizens, in terms of ease of use of the library and convenient placement of meeting rooms and computers
• Preparation and review of program plan and needs assessment
• Plan for future library growth, so that this important investment continues to serve the community for 20 years and beyond

Lake Travis Community Library – Assisted planning committee in forming a library district
Liberty Hill Public Library – Long-range planning and website development
Llano County Library System – Long-range planning for three-library county system
Moody Public Library – Automated their collection in preparation for computerized circulation
NetLibrary Downloadable Audiobooks Consortium – Negotiated discount and secured agreements with ten public libraries
Pflugerville Community Library – Space planning for public and staff areas
Salado Public Library – Long-range planning assisted planning committee in forming a library district
